A native of Malaysia, Ian Goh enjoys a multifaceted career as a pianist, composer, and co-founder and artistic director of Claviera Music. He also holds the position of Malaysian President for the World Piano Teachers Association (WPTA) and concurrently serves as the President of the Malaysia Piano Teachers Association (MPTA). Additionally, he is the Vice-Principal and Head of Piano at ClavierInspire and has been appointed as a Committee Member for the Master of Performing Arts (Music) Program at the Faculty of Creative Arts, University of Malaysia.

Ian's journey as a pianist is distinguished by a remarkable combination of technical brilliance and artistic sensitivity. He frequently performs in solo recitals and chamber music concerts, with appearances in the USA, China, Taiwan, Thailand, Indonesia, Vietnam, Cambodia, Japan, Singapore, and Malaysia. His triumph in the Missouri State University Concerto Competition in 2008 marked a pivotal moment, leading to his concerto debut at Juanita K. Hammons Hall. Since then, he has actively collaborated with orchestras and ensembles, including prestigious partnerships with the Kuala Lumpur Performing Arts Centre Orchestra, Sixteen Strings String Quartet, DSCH String Quartet, and Debonair, among others. He has been invited to and has served on the faculty of many renowned summer festivals, such as the Glissando International Piano Festival (San Diego, USA), the Costa Rica Piano Festival, Euro Arts Academy (Jeju, South Korea), the PianoHouse Festival (New York, USA), the Talent Music Summer Courses & Festival (Brescia, Italy), and many more.

Beyond the piano, Ian Goh's versatility as a composer is evident in his expansive repertoire, which seamlessly blends classical and contemporary influences. His compositions have been commissioned for competitions and festivals and showcased in performances across the globe. The poignant "Loving Life" for Choir and String Orchestra, premiered at the Asia Pacific Arts Festival in 2018, stands as a testament to his cross-cultural impact, resonating in Malaysia, the USA, Vietnam, and Cambodia. Notably, his composition "Wind Gust(s)" for Piano Solo was chosen as the compulsory piece for the Professional category at the Kingsburg International Piano Competition in Yantai, China, in 2018.

Ian Goh's commitment to nurturing the future of classical music is evident in his substantial contributions to the music education community. Having served as an adjudicator for over 80 international piano competitions and music festivals, he has become a sought-after guest faculty member, lecturer, and examiner at esteemed institutions throughout Asia and the USA. His wealth of expertise has been instrumental in shaping the next generation of musicians, embodying a dedication to fostering talent.

As a piano teacher, Ian Goh has earned acclaim for guiding aspiring musicians toward their full potential. His students have achieved notable success, claiming victories in international and national competitions and performing at prestigious venues such as Carnegie Hall, Auditorium Parco Della Musica in Italy, and the Hong Kong Academy of Performing Arts Recital Hall. The impact of his mentorship extends beyond mere accolades, as many students have secured scholarships from renowned music conservatories and universities, including the Eastman School of Music, the New England Conservatory, the Manhattan School of Music, and the Yong Siew Toh Conservatory of Music. Ian Goh's unwavering commitment to music education continues to inspire a new generation of musicians, leaving an indelible mark on the ever-evolving landscape of classical music.

Ian Goh's teachers include Ng Chong Lim, Dr. Wei Han Su of Missouri State University, and Julian Martin of The Juilliard School. He has also had the privilege of performing in masterclasses for Barry Snyder, Dr. Enrico Elisi, and others. He holds a Fellowship in Piano Performance from Trinity College London and a Licentiate in Performance from the Guildhall School of Music & Drama.
